REMEDIES

External applications can be a helpful addition to usual care.

In mild to moderate viral illness, fever encourages the immune system to overcome the infection. We can support the child’s wellbeing by doing the following: see the Application for fever.
Please note that this only applies when we know the reason for the fever and should not distract from seeking medical help if needed. Take good care of the correct temperatures for all external applications.

Please see the national guidelines on fever in children: NICE guidelines traffic light system.

In cases of recurring stress-related tummy aches or where we know the reasons, we can alleviate the discomfort with the following application: Chamomile tummy wrap.

Middle ear infections do not require antibiotics in most cases. Once checked with your GP/clinician, the pain can be alleviated very quickly with the following application: Onion ear bags.
